OF COURTHOUSE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XI-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has re-
viewed Miscellaneous Resolution 1/81068 and finds the amount of $3,470
necessary for this project. Said funds available in the 1981 Capital
Improvement Fund, Miscellaneous Remodeling.

RE: APPROVAL OF FUNDING FOR THE LIGHTING
OF COURTHOUSE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS.

TO: OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MR. CHAIRPERSON, LADIES AND :,.:iTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, Miscellaneous Resolution 09454, as adopted by the P.Pard of Commissioners
on June 19, 1980, authorized the placement of identification on the North and
South end of the Courthouse Tower Penthouse; and
WHEREAS, the placement of these numerals have assisted the public in identifying
the County Service Center; and
WHEREAS, there still remains an identification problem for those citizens
utilize the Courthouse during evening :ur; and
WHEREAS, this problem can be resolved by providing illumination of the numerals.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the amount of $3,470.00 be and is hereby
appropriated to the Department of Central Services, from the Capital improvement Fund,
for the purpose of providing lighting of the Courthouse numerals during the evening
hours.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Planning and Building Committee, I move the

In the summer of 1980, a project u thorizing the installation of
identification numerals on the Court T'.r penthouse was approved. At
that time, there was some discussion F. to include li2ting as part of the
project, thereby, making the numeral at nht. It was felt,
however, that the installation of the alo -e 4e.'H go a long way
towards solving the identity problem 1n1 lights, if they were still
needed, could be installed at a later time.
At their January 29, 1981, meeting the Planning & Building Committee
asked that a proposal for night-time illumination be brought before them.
The cost for illuminating both of the penthouse surfaces would be:
Material $1,375
Labor 1,775
Sub-Total $3,150
10% Contingency 320
Total Project Cost $3,470
This work can be done entirely by Maintenance personnel. If it is
the wish of the Committee to proceed, approval of the concept and funding
in the appropriate amount is requested.
