RES, BY: IN RE: 6892 PLANNING & ZONING COMMITTEE, James Dunleavy, Chairman SUPPORT OF MICHIGAN MUNICIPAL LEAGUE AMENDMENTS TO S. B. 946 TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, S. B. 946 would provide for the establishment of a State Resource Recovery Commission, and WHEREAS, the Michigan Municipal League, has proposed the following amendments to 5.8. 946: The DNR will be authorized to acquire land for State-financed solid recycling and processing facilities (1) on any unzoned land or (2) in zoned industrial areas where the facility conforms to the local zoning, but (3) will not be able to establish a landfill for raw (unprocessed) waste without local permission. WHEREAS, your Committee recommends support of the League's proposed amendments to SB 946, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners hereby supports the Michigan Municipal League's proposed amendments to SB 946, and so recommends to the County's Legislators. The Planning & Zoning Committee, by James Dunleavy, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution. PLANNING & ZONING COMMITTEE James W.
