Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Canvassers of the City of
Clawson, County of Oakland, Michigan held in the Municipal Building, 425 N.
Main Street, Clawson, MI on Thursday, the ninth day of November, 2000 at
7:00 p.m.
PRESENT: Members Boggio, Kurkowski, VanCoppenolle and Wisniewski
ABSENT: None
Also present was Carol Kanirie, City Clerk
MOTION BY: Kurkowski
SUPPORTED BY: Boggio
RESOLVED, that Lisa VanCoppenolle be appointed Chairman.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY:
The City Clerk presented to the Board of Canvassers the official returns
of the Election Inspectors as to the votes cast in said City at the General City
Election held in the City of Clawson on Tuesday, the 7th day of November,
2000.
The Board proceeded to canvass said returns.
The following preamble and resolution was offered by Member Boggio
and seconded by Member Wisniewski:
WHEREAS, at a General City Election duly called and held in the City of
Clawson, County of Oakland, Michigan on Tuesday, the 7 th day of November,
2000 and between the hours of 7:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock p.m., the
Ballot Proposal hereinafter set forth was submitted; and
WHEREAS, returns from the voting precincts at said election have been
filed with the Clerk and have been presented to and examined by the Board of
Canvassers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that:
1. The Board of Canvassers hereby determine that the votes cast at
said Election held on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 on the Ballot
Proposal, were as follows: •

BALLOT PROPOSAL
Pursuant to Section 6.08 of the Clawson City Charter, shall there be a
new additional millage of 3.2854 for operating purposes for a period of ten (10)
years resulting in an estimated amount of revenue collected in the first year the
millage is authorized and levied of $988,964?
Total Votes Cast 6193
Votes in favor of the Proposal 2299
Votes against the Proposal 3894
2. It being determined that more than a majority of the qualified electors
of the City of Clawson at said election having voted against the
proposal, it is hereby determined that the foregoing Ballot Proposal
did not pass.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY:
RESOLUTION DECLARED ADOPTED.
A motion to adjourn was offered by Kurkowski and seconded by Boggio.
CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY:
The meeting adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
