IN RE: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR MISCELLANEOUS PARKING LOT
IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT 74-9
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS pursuant to Miscellaneous Resolution #6778 bids were received on
August 27, 1974, for Project 74-9; and
WHEREAS the Facilities and Operations Division of the Board of Auditors and the
Buildings and Grounds Committee recommend that the miscellaneous parking lot improve-
ment contract be awarded to American Asphalt Paving, Inc. , the lowest responsible bidder,
with a bid of $76,617; and
WHEREAS your Finance Committee concurs in said recommendations;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
(1) The Finance Committee, at its meeting of September 3, 1974, concurred
with the recommendation of the Buildings and Grounds Committee,
(2) That the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners be and hereby is authorized
and directed to execute a contract with American Asphalt Paving, Inc. on
behalf of the County of Oakland,
(3) That this award shall not be effective until the awardees have been notified
in writing by the Oakland County Board of Auditors,
(4) That pursuant to Rule XI, C of this Board, the Finance Committee finds the
total sum for Project 74-9 of $83,000 is available in the Utilities Fund to fund the
Following:
Construction (low bidder) $76,617
Inspection and Quality Control 2,000
Administrative 100
Maintenance Charges 2,200
Contingency 2,083
TOTAL PROJECT FUNDING $83,000
The Finance Committee, by Fred D. Houghten, Chairman, and with the concurrence of the
Buildings and Grounds Committee, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
