IN RE: ESTABLISH CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY RANGE FOR
POLICE PARA-PROFESSIONAL IN SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS there appear to be certain types of work in the County Sheriff's Department
which can be well performed by persons interested in police work but without the specialized
training and experience of police officers and without the specialized skills of clerical
workers; and
WHEREAS the County has an opportunity to experiment with this concept by utilizing
persons employed and financed through the Federal Comprehensive Employment and Training
Act, Title II (C.E.T.A.) program.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a new classification of "Police Para-
Professional" be created at a flat annual salary rate of $7,500.
The Personnel Practices Committee, by Paul E. Kasper, Chairman, moves the adoption
of the foregoing resolution.

Resolution #6826 adopted by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
at their meeting held on September 19, 1974
