Miscellaneous Resolution 6397 August 2, 1973

IN RE: MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR CAPTAIN HARRY M. MAUR,
SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Captain Harry M. Maur of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department passed away on
July 11, 1973 at the age of 48 years, and having resided at 1568 Welch Road, Walled Lake.
Captain Maur joined the Sheriff's Department in August of 1953 as a patrolman and
was promoted to Detective in 1956 and in 1961 he was promoted to Detective-Sergeant in
charge of the Detective Bureau, where he served until 1969 when he was promoted to the
rank of Captain.
Captain Maur was a dedicated law officer and was respected and admired by all
who served under his command. His contribution in the interests of all of the citizens of
the community was meaningful and he will be keenly missed by all who were privileged to
know him.
Surviving are his wife Marie and two daughters, Linda and Denise.
MR. CHAIRMAN, I move that the foregoing memorial resolution be spread upon the
minutes of this Board meeting and that a certified copy affixed with the Seal of the County
of Oakland be forwarded to his surviving wife Marie.
OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
The resolution was unanimously adopted.
