IN RE: APPLICATION DESIGNATING OAKLAND COUNTY
AREA AGENCY ON AGING
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
M. Chairman, Ladies and C
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners has and continues to support
the planning for and delivery of services to its senior citizens; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners has appropriated the -e
sum of $31),,--- the y of needed senior r during the period 1970 I; '1
1973; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Cc a ri,rioners made ap:-,1 ! for a Title III
funded senior planning study :ecently completed by he National Council on the Aging; and
WHEREAS the co:-. ' t'o) of the National Council on the Aging (NCOA) planning
report places Oakland in a position of being able ediately implement the provisions of
the report; and
WHEREAS the guidelines for Title III of the Older American Comprehensive Services
dments of 1972 calls for the designation of Planning Service Areas (PSA's) and the
ton of Aren, s on (AAOA's); and
WHEREAS the government of Oakland County qualifies to be designated an Area Agency
on A71
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
directs the Oakland County n Auditors to take the necessary action to make application
to have Oakland County c` -* - ted as a Planning Service Area (PSA) and Oakland County
G:-rient designated an Area Agency on Aging (AACA); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the above preferred ant'on is unobtainable, that tcne
Oakland C 'y Board of Commissioners directs the Oakland Co ‘:, Board of Auditors
application for the designation of Cn --

and LivIngston,
