Dear Sir:
Enclosed are two (2) true, compared and complete copies each of
four (4) Charter Amendments to the Ferndale City Charter which were
approved by the electorate of the City of Ferndale at the General
Election held Til8day, November 7, 1972
I hereby certify that at said election the vote on Local Proposal
No. 2 was 4,971 votes in favor and 4,328 votes against; Local Proposal
No. 3 was 4,875 votes in favor and 4,376 votes against; Local Proposal
No 4 was 5,180 votes in favor and 4,048 votes against; Local Proposal
No. 5 was 5,417 votes in favor and 3,762 votes against.
Also, please be advised that Local Propsal No. 1 which was, "Shall
Ordinance No. 596 of the City of Ferndale, entitled 'AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND
CHAPTER 3 OF THE FERNDALE CITY CHARTER BY ADDING NEW SECTION 4(a),(b),(c)
AND (d), TO SAID CHARTER', be repealed?", received 4,557 votes in favor
and 4,236 votes against. Ordinance No. 596 has been repealed.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN
CHARTER AMENDMENT
CHAPTER IV, SECTION 18
"Section 18. All perSons elected to any office in the City of Ferndale
tinder the provisions of this Charter shall, within ten days after receiving
the certificate of his election, take and subscribe to the official oath
required by this Charter and file the same with the Clerk, unless such time
shall be extended by resolution of the Commission. No person shall take
office until he has qualified by taking and subscribing to said oath and
by filing any bond required by the proviSions of this Chatter and the
Statutes of the State; provided, all elected officials of the City of Fern-
dale shall mit he qualified to Serve in excess of two (2) consecutive terms
in office. ,(As amended 11-7-72)"

CHARTER AMENDMENT
CHAPTER IV, SECTION 18
"Section 18. All persons elected to any office in the City of Ferndale
under the provisions of this Charter shall, within ten days after receiving
the certificate of his election, take and subscribe to the official oath
required by this Charter and file the same with the Clerk, unless such time
shall be extended by resolution of the Commission- No person shall take

"Section 1. The said City of Ferndale shall be a body corporate and
politic, shall have perpetual succession, shall have a corporate seal, may
sue and be sued and may contract and be contracted with; provided, any ex-
penditure in an amount of $100,000.00 or more in excess of the operating
budget in the administration of the municipality, prior to being made, must
be submitted to the qualified electors for approval. Upon failure at the
polls of such proposal to achieve passage, said proposal shall not again
be submitted and/or appear on the ballot for a period of five (5) years
thereafter. (As amended 11-7-72)"
