PROPOSED AMENDMENT #1 SHALL THE CHARTER DEFINITIONS SECTION 21.1 AND ALL OTHER. SECTIONS OF THE CHARTER BE AMENDED SO THAT WHEN THE TERMS "HE" or "HIM" OR "HIS" IS USED IT WILL BE. ACCOMPANIED BY THE WORD "SHE" OR "HER" RESPECTIVELY AS, FOR EXAMPLE, HE/SHE, HIS/HER? Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this amendment is to provide equal gender reference. 17/5,5 1-1-7-3 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #2 Statement of Purpose: SHALL SECTIONS 9.3, 7.5, 9.7, 9.8, 9.13, 9.14 AND 9.15 BE AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR AN ODD-YEAR PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION, TO CHANGE THE COMPOSITION OF THE CITY BOARD OF CANVASSERS, TO CHANGE THE WITHDRAWAL OF CANDIDATES, TO CHANGE THE NOTICE OF ELECTION AND OATHS OF OFFICE? -1)(-1 -,/ The purpose of this amendment is to provide for an odd-year primary and general election, to change the composition of the City Board of Canvassers, to change the withdrawal of candidates, to change the notice of election, and oaths of office. Statement of Purpose: A/' - /r ( 72 `/7 Statement of Purpose: PROPOSED AMENDMENT #3 SHALL SECTION 5.4 OF THE CITY CHARTER BE AMENDED TO ELIMINATE THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY CLERK SHALL HAVE ON HAND NOT LESS THAN 50 COPIES OF TECHNICAL CODES BUT SHALL PROVIDE FOR INSPECTION AND COPYING OF SAME AT A REASONABLE COST? PROPOSED AMENDMENT #4 SHALL SECTION 10.5 OF THE CITY CHARTER BE AMENDED TO ALLOW PUBLICATION BY PROVIDING FOR COPYING AND ELIMINATE THE NECESSITY FOR 100 COPIES OF THE BUDGET TO BE ON HAND? This amendment is to eliminate the cost of keeping 100 copies of the budget on hand and to allow for public inspection, copying and distribution. PROPOSED AMENDMENT #5 SHALL SECTION 11.17 OF THE CITY CHART-ER BE CHANGED SO AS TO ELIMINATE THE PHRASE "COLLECTION FEE" AND SUBSTITUTE IN PLACE THEREOF THE PHRASE "PROPERTY TAX ADMINISTRATION FEE?" This amendment is proposed to reflect a change in State I as PROPOSED AMENDMENT #6 SHALL SECTION 15.3, 15.4, 15.5 AND 15.6 PERTAINING TO CEMETERIES AND PARKS BE REPEALED IN THEIR ENTIRETY? 1(7K 57: Statement of Purpose: - /71/1 0 6 -/// L77, These sections regulate the maintenance and protection of cemeteries and parks, plotting and sale, and single and pauper graves which have no relevance to our city because it has no cemetery and has no open space for one and the city parks are provided for in other sections of city and state 1aw. Page 3 PROPOSED AMENDMENT #7 SHALL THE TERMS OF OFFICE FOR MAYOR AND COUNCIL IN SECTION 4.19 OF THE CHARTER BEGIN ON THE MONDAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THEIR ELECTION IN NOVEMBER? Statement of Purpose: - This amendment changes the beginning of the terms of office from January following the election to the week after the election in order to eliminate the two-month period of time during which lame duck members may sit in office. PROPOSED AMENDMENT 418 SHALL THE CHARTER BE RENUMBERED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RESPECTIVE ELIMINATION OF CHAPTERS, SECTIONS, AND AMENDMENTS TO SECTIONS AS ADOPTED BY THIS PRESENT VOTE OF THE ELECTORATE AND BY .
