HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1972.02.17 - 15743February 17, 1972 RESOLUTION NO. 5941 RE: POPULATION RESTRICTION AS TO COUNTIES BY: MR. GABLER TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF ODMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, the present Michigan Public Acts provide that counties having a population of less than 1 million are vested with the authority to establish and operate various facilities; and WHEREAS, the County of Oakland is rapidly approaching this population limitation; and WHEREAS, as to certain facilities in counties over 1 million the county board of commissioners is divested of the right to establish and operate those facilitieS; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Oakland is desirous of retaining the present authority for the operation of the various County facilities. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that legislation be introduced and supported to amend the population, limitationfrom 1 million to 2.5 million. MR.
