HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1972.07.06 - 15771July 6, 1972 RESOLUTION NO. 6079 : SUPPORT PROPOSED CHANGE IN JUVENILE COURT CODE BY: LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE - Mrs. Simson TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES & GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, the Probate Judges feel that the present language in the Juvenile Court Code is inconsistent 7 and WHEREAS, your Committee recommends that the Juvenile Court Code be amended to alleviate the inconsistency; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that legislation be introduced to amend the Juvenile Court Code, as follows: "If during the pendency of a criminal charge against any person in any other court, it is ascertained that the person was under the age of 17 at the time of the commission of the offense AND IS CURRENTLY UNDER THE AGE OF 19, the court shall transfer such documents, and testimony connected therewith, to the juvenile division of the probate court of the county in which such other court is situated or in which the person resides.". The Legislative Committee, by Mrp. Marguerite Simson, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
