RE: Per Diem Payment to Plat • Board

TO: The Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Mr. Chairman, Ladies, and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Pfat• Board is established by state law for determining the
I iegolity of proposed plats, and
WHEREAS, this Board is composed of six members; the Register of Deeds; the
Drain Commissioner; the three members of the Board of Auditors; and the Chairman
of the County Board of Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, the plats are routed through various County departments for
clearance, and
WHEREAS, presently the time involved in final clearance by the Not Board is
very minimal, and
WHEREAS, all members are full time employees of the County, with the exception
of the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, who receives additional compensation for
serving as Board Chairman, and
WHEREAS, the duties of the Plat Board are Cal ried out during regular working hours.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
supports legislative action to rescind payment to Plat F3card members and that copies of
this Resolution be sent to ali Oakland County legislators, r•.cluesting their consideration
and support.

for immediate consideration •of the resolution.

Horton, Houghten, Kasper, Kronenberg, Mathews, Olson, Patnales,
Powell, Simson, Aaron. (17)
NAYS: Lennon, Paholak, Perinoff, Pernick, Richardson, Wilcox,
Barakat. (7)
Eighteen votes not having been cast in favor of suspending
the rules, the motion lost.
The Chairman referred the resolution to the Personnel
Practices Committee. Mr. Houghten objected.
The Chairman called for a vote on referral of the resolution
to the Personnel Practices Committee. The vote was as follows:
AYES: Daly, Dearborn, Doyon, Hamlin, Harrison, Kasper,
Kronenber 9, Lennon, Mathews, Olson, Paholak, Patnales, Perinoff,
Pernick, Powell, Wilcox, Aaron, Barakat. (18)
NAYS: Gabler, Horton, Houghten, Richardson, Simson, Coy. (6)
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution
was referred to the Personnel Practices Committee.
