IN RE: OPPOSITION TO S.13. 1126 AND H. B. 5859- AMENDING ACT 151,
PUBLIC ACTS OF 1923, ENTITLED AS AMENDED, "THE HOSPITAL
ACT FOR MENTALLY DISEASED PERSONS"
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS your Committee has considered S. B. 1126 and H. B. 5859;
and
WHEREAS your Committee recommends opposition to S. B. 1126 and H. B. 5859
for reasons that the County will be liable for reimbursement costs to the State for
maintenance of voluntary County patients in mental hospitals, without recourse
for reimbursement to the County;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners vigorously opposes S. B. 1126 nd H. B. 5859.
The Legislative Committee, by Marguerite Simson, Chairman, moves the
adoption of the foregoing resolution, and that certified copies be forwarded to the
Oakland County Legislators.
Moved by Simson supported by Gabler the resolution be adopted.
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution was adopted.
