Oakland County is preeently served by a staff person assigned by_Region One Law
forcement and Criminal Justice Planning Agency. The staff person has been assigned to • 0a-`-:lan
County on a full-time basis since March, 1970. The duties and responsibilities of the Re-
gional Staff man are now transferred to the duties and responsibilities of the new Local
" Planning unit. The majority of the planning activities for Oakland County has been coro.te..c.-1
by Region One in the past. It is the feeling of Oakland County that a Local Planning Unit
is necessary to establish priorities, determine local needs, and provide local input to the
Regional and State Planning Agencies. In compliance with the amendm•ent of the Omnibus Crime
Bill, 1970, the County of Oakland is hereby recuesting direct planning monies to establis'a
a local_ law enforcement and criminal justice planning unit. This annlication was drawn '-.: 7 in
compliance with the guidelines provided to the applicafat by the office of Criminal Justice
