RE: ESTABLISHMENT OF OAKLAND COUNTY
LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: 1
WHEREAS, Miscellaneous ResolutiOn No. 5584 was referred to
the Committee on Committees requesting the establishment of an
Oakland County Law Enforcement Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Committee on Committees recommends the estab-
lishment of the Oakland County Law Enforcement Committee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a special committee be
formed to be known as the Oakland County Law Enforcement Committee
composed of the following members who

FEBRUARY-MARCH NEWSLETTER
The following material is presented for your examination
and use at the March meeting of -the Oakland County
Law Enforcement Committee. If you have any questions
regarding the material or the scheduled meeting, please
do not hesitate to contact Mr. Robert C. Robillard,
Coordinator, at the Oakland County Prosecutor's
Office.
I. ANNOUNCEMENT OF MARCH MEETING
The March meeting of the Oakland County Law Enforcement
Committee will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2971,
at 9:00 a.m., in the library of the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney. Please notify Mr. Robillard as
to your attendance.
II. AGENDA FOR THE MARCH MEETING
A general agenda for the March meeting will be as
follows:
A. Announcement of new committee members.
B. Discussion of planning grant for Oakland County.
C. Discussion and review of County grant applications.
D. Other business.
III. APPOINTMENT OF 1971 LAW 'ORCEMFNT COMMITTEE .
On February 18, 1971, the CoMrittee on Committees of
the Oakland County Board of Commissioners announced
a resolution that created the Oakland County taw
Enforcement Committee for the year 1971. The members
of the committee are:

It was determined in 1970 that the committee would
conform to the 9:00 a.m. meetings, the second Thursday
of every month.
IV. PLANNING FUNDS FOR OAKLAND COUNTY
Attached to this newsletter is a copy of a letter of
February 11, 1971, sent by Bernard Winckoski,
Administrator of the Office of Criminal Justice
Programs, to Mr. William Richards, Chairman of the
Oakland County -Board of Commissioners. This letter
discusses the revision of the Omnibus Crime Control
Bill which allows direct planning funds for large
county areas. This letter and its implications will
be discussed at the March meeting.
V. REVIEW OF GRANT APPLICATIONS
Attached to this newsletter are four grant applications
that will be reviewed at the. March meeting. They are:
A. Pontiac Police Department: Narcotics and Drug Unit
B. Oakland Community College: Spoken Spanish for
Law Enforcement Officers
C. Oakland County Sheriff's Department: Closed-circuit
Television Facilities
D. Oakland County Sheriff's Department: Crime Lab
' Facilities
If there are any additional applications prepared by
the meeting date, they will be presented at that time.
