Subject: Bids on Earlmoor Drain
Oakland County, Michigan
Dear Mr. Barry:
We have previously transmitted 5 copies of the tabulation of bids
received on March 24, 1971 on Earlmoor, Drain. Eight bids were
received; however, four were rejected at the opening as they did not
meet the bidding qualifications. The four bids received and the
Engineers' Estimate are as follows:
Ackron Contracting Co., Inc.
Belleville, Michigan
Canzano Contracting Corporation
Novi, Michigan
Sullivan Bros. Excavating, Inc.
Livonia, Michigan
Greenfield Construction Company
Livonia, Michigan
Engineer's Estimate of Cost:
The lowest bid was $29,281 below the estimate and submitted by
Ackron Contracting Company, Inc. Since the Company complied with the
necessary prequalification for bidding and the bid is below the esti-
mate, we recommend that the contract be awarded to them on the basis
of their proposal.
Very truly yours,
JONES & HENRY ENGINEERS LIMITED
