RE: SUPPORT OF $.ffiNEWMF—nWigtn LEGISLATION FOR INCREASED APPROPRIATION FOR NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH CORPS BY: LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE - Mr. Pexilick TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, this Board is aware of proposals now pending in the Federal Congress aimed at providing substantially increased appro- priation for Neighborhood Youth Corps programs; and WHEREAS, there is great need throughout Oakland County for additional funding for summer job employment for youths 14 to 18 years of age. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners strongly supports these proposals and urges their passage. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to the President, Richard M. Nixon, White House, and also that copies be sent to Senators Hart and Griffin and Congressmen Jack McDonald and William Broomfield, The Legislative Committee, by Mr.', Lawrence R. (10) NAYS: Lennon, Mainland, Mathews, Perinoff, Pernick, Richards, Simson, Aaron, Brennan, Daly, Edwards, Harrison, (12) A sufficient majority not having voted therefor, the motion lost. Vote on resolution: A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution was adopted.
