HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1971.11.03 - 16225November 4, 1971 RESOLUTION NO RE: ADC SUPPLEMENTAL CLOTHING BY: JAMES MATHEWS TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, the need for supplementary emergency clothing as- sistance to maintain continuous school, attendance for the children of the poor in Oakland County continues to exist; and WHEREAS, the additional clothing would be more equitably distributed through a County-operated clothing store; and WHEREAS, the cost for ADC supplemental clothing allowance for the year 1971 was approximately $125,000.00; and WHEREAS, the sum of $125,000.00 should be appropriated for the clothing store operation; and WHEREAS, the Department of Social Services should make the determination as to which children are in need of emergency clothing. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Oakland allo- cate the sum of $125,000.00 for the establishment of an Oakland County Clothing Store for ADC recipients based upon demonstrated necessity. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Social Services make the determination as to ADC children in need of emergency clothing. MR.
