RESOLUTION NO.
RE: RULES & REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO APPROVAL OF TRAVEL BY
COUNTY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES

TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES & GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, the County Board of Commissioners has the
power pursuant to §46.11, C.L. 1948:
"Seventeenth, To establish such rules and
regulations in reference to the management of the
interest and business concerns of such county; ***
as they shall deem necessary and proper in all
matters not expecially provided for in this act
or in some law of this state***.";
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and proper to provide rules
and regulations for the approval of travel and travel expenses by
County officials and employees in order to limit such travel and
expenses to only such as are absolutely necessary to the interest
and business of the County;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County
Board of Commissioners does hereby establish the following rules
and regulations pertaining to the approval of travel and travel
expenses by County officials and employees:
1. No County funds, whether budgeted or not,
shall be expended for travel and travel expenses
of County officers and employees, other than
normal mileage, without the prior approval of any
two of the following named Officials: Chairman
of the Board of Commissioners, Chairman of the
Board of Auditors, Chairman of the Board of Com-
missioners' Finance Committee;
2. No cash advances for travel shall be made with-
out the approval of any two of the abovenamed
officials;

3. The Board of Auditors may make such other
rules and regulations not inconsistent with those
contained herein pertaining to travel by County
officers and employees, including rules pertaining
to normal mileage as they deem necessary. Such
rules shall become effective only upon approval
of the Board of Commissioner's.
MR. CHAIRMAN, I move the adoption of the foregoing
resolution.
The resolution was referred to the Finance Committee. There were
no objections.
