BY: LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE - Mr. Pernick IN RE: SUPPORT FOR LEGISLATION TO PERMIT INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO OPERATE SCHOOLS FOR WARDS OF THE COURT TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the County of Oakland and the Probote Court have deemed it necessary to establish and operate a school for wards of the court; and WHEREAS, the State Legislature is attempting to implement legislation that would allow funds for the Intermediate School District to operate such a school and your Committee recommends such legislation; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners strongly supports legislation that would amend Section 12 of Act 312 of the Public Acts of 1957 that would allow the Intermediate School District to operate a school for children who are wards of the Court. The Legislative Committee, by Lawrence R. Pernick, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution. LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE / Lawrence R.
