Mr. Chairman, Ladies and r,entlerr'len:
WHERTAS, the Board. of Supervisors of Oakland Couni,Ty by
iscellaneous Resolution No 1925 adopted on April 21, 1942, as
subsequentiy amended, the last of which amendments was by
Miscellaneous Resolution No 3399 adopted on July 21, 1958, did
authorize and direct that there be established,'maintained. and
prorated under the provisions of Act No. 342 of the Public Acts
of 1939, as amended, and any other aDplicable acts, a system of
sewer and sewage disposal improvements and services for the
rurpose of disposing of sewage from a district to be known as the
"Southeastern Oakland County Sewage Disposal District" and con-
sisting of the territory described in. said. vli.sc:ellaneolas
Resolution No. 7399, which district i5 sometimes hereinafter
referred to as the "district"; and
WHEREAS, said system -H 7Know.r, as the "Southeastern.
Oakland County . Sewage Disposal System and
WHEREAS, the County Drain Commissioner was designatc,,d
as the agency of the county in Oonnection. with the establishment,
maintenance and oneration of the Southeastern Oakland County.
Sewage Disposal. System and as the person who shall have super-
vision and control of the maTagept and operati.on of said
system; and
the Water Resources Commission of the State wHr7z -E
of Michigan has ordered the municipajities comprising the
Southeastern Oakland County Sewage Disposal District ar.,.d the
Cal.cland County Drain Commissioner as county agency pursuant to
the provisions of Act No. 747 of the Public Acts of 1939, as
amended, to -abate pollution of the Rod Run Drain; and
WHEREAS, in order to abate p-:Illution of the Red Run.
Drain it is necessary to extend enlarge and improve, the said
Southeastern Oakland County Sewage Disposal System hr the
acquisition and construction of pollution control facilities,
WHEREAS, this Board of Commits loners by Miscellaneous
Resolution No. 5454 In.as approved and adopted the plans,
specifications and estimate of cost for the additional Pollution
Control Facilities; and
WITERTAS, Federal grant. for the construction of such
Pollution Control Facilities ar6 available as authorized IDY the
Federal Water Pollution Control Act (Public Law 84-660, as
amended') and by the Michigan. Act No, 329 of the Public Acts of
1966, as amended; and
WHEREAS, this Board of 'Commissioners deem it advisable
to take advantage of such funds 'as are available and to request
Federal and such other financial aid as is s -pecified under the
nrovisions of the above cited Public Acts for the purpose of
Constructing the referred to Pollution Control Facilities,
NOW THEREFORE RE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County
Drain Commissioner, as County Agent pursuant to the provisions
of Act No. 342 or the Public Acts of 1939, as amended, is
herebY authorized and. directed to submit to the proer reviewin
authority the F.t)ropriate application for a Eederal (7rant for
the construction of the referred to Pollution. Control Facilities
in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Water Pollution
Control Act (Public Law 84-660 as amended) and of Michigan Act
No, 329 of t h e Public Acts of 1969 as amended, and to receive
PUBLIC WORKS. COWITTEP

Commissioners,
Mr, Chairman, on behalf of the Public Works Committee,
, move the adortion of the foregoing resolution,
Moved by Horton supported by Gabler the resolution be adopted.
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution
was adopted.
