RE: DISTRIBUTION OF MICHIGAN MANUAL TO MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN;
WHEREAS, t he State Legislature has provided in an amended P.A. 1958,
No 161, Effective September 13, for the distribution, free, exchange, sale; pamphlet
compilations; tax laws; and
WHEREAS, it required rhat "The County Clerk shall file a veq -k*:-7ion.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County Clerk

24.27 Statistics of public institutions; arrangement, contents. [M.SA. 4.34
Sec. 27. In all reports the statistics of educational, charitable, reformatory and
institutions shall be arranged in such a way as to show the cost of conducting each - --
said institutions during the 2 fiscal years preceding, salary of officers, the amount of Iee.
lative appropriation, receipts from all other sources, and all expenditures, and for
purposes. The said statistics shall also show the number of students, inmates or prisorir,i
according to the nature of each institution, and the instruction or employment given.
24.31 Reports of public institutions ; number of copies. [M.S.A. 4.349]
Sec. .31. It shall be the duty of the secretary of state to advise with the sevtrs:
officers, boards of officers and public institutions making reports as to the number of
of their reports necessary. And it shall be the duty of the state printer or binder to delit:
at the office of the secretary of state, or at such other place or places as he may direit:
all the books or pamphlets to be printed and bound, as mentioned . in this act.
24.32 Michigan manuals, distribution by county superintendents of schools :

Sec. 32. It shall be the duty of the county superintendents of schools to distribute
copies ofof the "Michigan Manual" to the scheol.s in their respective counties, as provii!,.i
in section 30 of this act; and also to see that the same are kept for the use of said scher-li.

tribution of the laws, journals, documents and reports mentioned in this act, clistributic-7.
of which is not otherwise provided for; and said laws, journals, documents, and repoili
shall be shipped to the several county clerks and county superintendents of schools in !hr.-
state, and be distributed by them to the persons within their respective counties entit'ti
to the same, and until so distributed, they shall be carefully preserved by said county clerk!

24.33 County clerks and superintendents of schools; distribution of state pub-
lications; receipt and report. [M.S.A. 4.351]
Sec. 33. It shall be the duty of the several county clerks and county superintendcr
of schools, upon receiving any of the books mentioned in this act, to receipt to the SCUN
tary of state for the same, which receipt shall be filed and preserved in the office of the
secretary of state; and it shall also be the duty of the said county clerks and county
superintendents of schools to distribute said books as provided in this act, and to rei>e!=
at the expiration of a month after each reception of books to the secretary of state, on blenl.,
furnished by him, by giving a full statement of all of said books remaining in his riEt -i-
together with the names of the officers neglecting to call for the books to which they
entitled; and it shall be the duty of all persons, upon receiving any of the books m:-.-
tioned in this act, to receipt respectively to the county clerk and county superintend
of schools for the same, which receipt shall be filed and preserved in the office of the cosnoy
clerk and county superintendent of schools respectively. It shall also be the duty of
secretary of state to notify each person to whom any hooks are sent, except towit.'''
