HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1970.01.15 - 16436January 15, 1970 UTHER KING, JR. arnes Mathews Supervisor, District #19 Miscellaneous Resolution 502- 63 BY: Mr. James Mathews IN RE: COMMEMORATION OF BIRTHDAY OF MARTIN TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, many citizens of all races and creeds will be observing and commemorating January 15, the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; and WHEREAS, Martin Luther King, Jr, devoted and gave of his life and leadership in the never ending goals of achievement of better understanding between all fellow men; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors hereby commemorates this day of January 15 as the anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr. and of his achievements in the field of human rights and racial understanding. MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the entire membership of this Board, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
