BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN wrLRIT,:As, House Bill 4230 and Senate Bill 230 were intended to provide relief to the residential taxpayers by reducin,g the assess- ment on residential property to 45% of the true cash value; and WHEREAS, your Committee has discussed this matter with Mr. Herman Stephens, Director of the Oakland County Equalization De- partment, and is informed that the two bills would not provide the relief to the residential taxpayers in reasonable proportion to the total revenue lost; and WHEREAS, your Committee recommends that this Board of Commis- sioners opposes House Bill 4230 and Senate Bill 230 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board. of Commissioners opposes the adoption of House Bill 4230 and Senate Bill 230, MR, CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Legislative Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
