CHAIRMAN, LADIS AND GENTLIVIEN: he Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity has submitted a Senior Citizens Program which will, amnc nther things, provide a Drop-In Center Program, including recreational •nd educational services, sponsor adult trainincJ proc: and conduct primary and s..'cordry research relative to the employability of senior citi provid health and nutrition Services to the elderly shut-ins and senior citizens; and WHEREAS, the Committee recommends the approval of the Senior Citizens' Program a.,F outlined in detail in the Report by the Oakland County Commission on Rconomi Opportunity dated February 6, 1970. NOW ThK4RFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of s approves the Senior Citizens' Program as outlined in U Report of the Oakland County Commission on Economic Opportunity dated February 1970. MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Human Resources Committee, I move adoption of the foregoing resolution. Moved by Houghten supported by O'Donoghue that the resolution as presented be amended to read that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors authorize a disbursement of $39,000.00 at the present time, upon the condition that the Oakland County Commission of Economic Opportunity has agreed to submit a five or six month report as to the expenditure of the $39,000.00 and further has agreed to submit a report for the balance of the year 1970. Discussion followed. Mr. Richards requested that when the report comes back from 0.E.0 that it also come back to the Human Resources Committee for review. Vote on amendment' A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the amendment carried. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLMVN: WiFiVIA, the Human Resoixrces Committee referred the Senior Citizens' Program to the Finance Committee; and WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has reviewed the recommendations of the Human Resm:rc..es Committee and states that there was appropri- ated in the 1970 Budget, the sum. of $78,000.00 to be disbursed by Progrw WIIEREAS, the Finance Committee recommends for disbursement at this time the sum of $39,000.00 upon the condition hereinafter set forth; and WHFREAS, the CM.nd County Commission on Economic Opportunity has agreed Windt a 5 or 6 month Report as to the expenditure of the $39,000.00, and further has agreed to submit a Report for the balance of thr, year 1970.
