O'BRIEN TO THE OAKLAND 'COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS NF CU';-)7M1114, LADIES & GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS Section 11 of Act 261 of the Public Acts of 1966 (Sec. 46.411 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, M.S.A. 5.359(11)) provides that the nomination and election of members of county boards of supervisors shall be by partisan elections: and WHEREAS the partisan election of supervisors has proven to be detrimental to the effective and efficient functioning of the board and has proven to be not in the best interests of the people of the county; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Supervisors requests the Legislature of the State of Michigan to amend the above cited Act 261 to provide for the nomin- ation and election of members of county boards of supervisors shall be by non-partisan elections.
