HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1970.09.03 - 16618Petition. for the adoption of SeparJ. x Limitations within the T 5482 1970 RESOLUTION NO, RE: SEPARATE TAX LIMITAT BY: EQUALIZATION COMMITTEE - Mr, Szabo TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR, CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: taLEREAS IQ Oakland County Tax Allocation Board has filed a County of Oakland pursuant to the provisions of Act 62 of the Public Acts of 1933, as amended; and WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners has reviewed said Petition and determines that said Petition substantially com- plies with the provisions of said Act 62; and WHEREAS, the Petition requests a vote by the registered and qualified electors of Oakland County on the Separate Tax Limitations as follows: "Shall separate tax limitations be established for an in- definite period, or until altered by the voters of the County, for the County of Oakland and the townships and school districts within the County, the aggregate of which shall not exceed 18 mills as follows: Mills County of Oakland._ ..... .„., ...... ,....,. 0,00 Townships 1.00 Intermediate School Districtg .25 School Districts fa school district located entirely within a city (or charter township) shall receive in addition millage equal to the township Yes No 9 a 9 County of Oakland. — .... 5,25 1.25 —.. .25 MR. EQUALIZATION COMMITTEE ! ev-9,77/ RE: SEPARATE TAX LIMITATIONS WHEREAS, this Board of Commissioner with the Petition submitted by the Oakland County Tax Allocation Board which increased the total millage by three (3) mills pursuant to the provisions of Act 62 of the Public Acts of 1933, as anondod, which Act requires the Board of Commissioners to submit to the registered and qualified electors of the County of Oakland, the question of fixing millage as petitioned for by the Allocation Board. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the question of establishing separate tax limitations be submitted to the registered and qualified electors of the County of Oakland at the next General Election on November 3, 1970 in the following form: "Shall separate tax limitations be established for an indefinite period, or until altered by the voters of the County, for the County of Oakland and the townships and school districts within the County, the aggregate of which shall not exceed 18 mills as follows: Mills County of Oakland 6.00 Townships 1.00 Intermediate School District .25 School Districts (a school district located entirely within a city br charter township) shall receive in addition millage equal to the township millage) 10.75 18.00 Yes ( ) No ( )1 BE IT FIIRTEER RESCLVPD that this Board of L;oramissionors makes no recommendation as to the adoption of said voted millage.
