MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION # 90127

IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH
DIVISION-1989/1990 MICHIGAN HEALTH INITIATIVE GRANT
ACCEPTANCE
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS pursuant to Miscellaneous Resolution #89105, the Health
Division applied to the Michigan Department of Public Health (MDPH) for
Michigan Health Initiative funding in the amount of $5,000 to continue
appraisal of individual and group health risks begun with a "one-time"
grant last year; and
WHEREAS MDPH has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Oakland County Health
Division, for the period October 1, 1989 through September 30, 1990,
through the Southeast Michigan Health Association, the prime
sub-contractor for MDPH on this project; and
WHEREAS the grant funds will cover 100% of the staff time and
materials to conduct the appraisals, no additional County resources are
required; and
WHEREAS the Office of Corporation Counsel has reviewed the grant
agreement and has approved it as to legal sufficiency; and
WHEREAS acceptance of this grant does not obligate the County for any
future commitments.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners accept the 1989/1990 Michigan Health Initiative Grant in the
amount of $5,000 and authorize the appropriate amendments to the 1990
Budget be made as detailed on the attached schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board is authorized
to execute said grant agreement and approve amendments up to a fifteen
(15) percent variance from the original amount which are consistent with
the grant as originally approved.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Finance Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.
