Skarritt, Chairperson IN RE: OPPOSE CONSUMERS POWER ROYAL OAK FACILITY MOVE TO LIVONIA AND PONTIAC TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, Consumers Power Company is the largest public utility in the State of Michigan and maintains a presence in southeast Oakland County; and WHEREAS, Consumers Power Company is proposing the relocation of all or part of its Royal Oak field office from that city to Pontiac and Livonia; and WHEREAS, Southeast Oakland County contains over 65% of the County's population and to remove the field operations from Royal Oak can only diminish the viability of the Company and its services to this prospering area; and WHEREAS, it has been stated that response time to emergency calls could increase by 15 minutes to more than an hour for customers in southeast Oakland County if service personnel are based in Pontiac and Livonia for service to the Royal Oak area.
