Pontiac, Michigan 48053 Dear Sheriff Nichols: The Village of Clarkston has arrived at the decision to pursue a contract with the Oakland County Sheriffs Department. The Village Council, in past years had con- tracted for your services through Independence Township. The Council now feels that to receive the services need- ed it will be more advantageous to work directly with the Sheriff. We have been meeting with the Township since March 1987, However, neither Supervisor Ronk or myself have been able to reach a solution that will satisfy both communi- ties. Although we realize it will be difficult, it is the Village Councils desire to have a contract with your department in effect for 1988. Please infoLm me of the procedures necessary to complete this agreement. Thank you for your consideration. Singerely, ..--. /Sharron Catallo Village President cc: Richard Kuhn Dale A.
