IN RE: INSTITUTIONAL AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH - CREATION OF POSITIONS FOR
JAIL HEALTH PROGRAM RELATED TO JAIL ADDITION
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Jail Health Program provides mandated health care
services to inmates of the Oakland County Jail; and
WHEREAS the jail addition currently under construction is
anticipated to be completed and ready for occupancy on January 31, 1989; and
WHEREAS this addition will substantially increase the total number
of inmates requiring health care services: and
WHEREAS in order to provide these services and remain within the
guidelines of the consent judgment, an expansion of staff of the Jail Health
Program is necessary; and
WHEREAS the Health Division requested one (1) Physician's Assistant
and five (5) General Staff Nurse positions in the 1988 - 1989 budget for
expansion of the Jail Health Program due to the jail addition; and
WHEREAS three (3) of those General Staff Nurse positions were
created by the Board of Commissioners in March 1988; and
WHEREAS this request is for the remainder of staff originally
anticipated in the 1988 - 1989 budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED to create three (3) governmental
positions in the Jail Health Program unit of the Health Division as follows:
1 Physician's Assistant
2 General Staff Nurse
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.
