MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION # 87087 April 9, 1987

IN RE: FACILITIES ENGINEERING DIVISION - CONTRACT AWARD FOR MENTAL
RETARDATION CENTER REMODELING
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMSSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS by Miscellaneous Resolution #85245 the Board of Commissioners
authorized the County Executive's Department of Central Services to receive bids
for remodeling of Mental Retardation Center for Community Mental Health at an
estimated cost of $200,000; and
WHEREAS in accordance with bidding procedures, bids for the installation of the
above mentioned were received and opened on March 12, 1987; and
WHEREAS the County Executive's Department of Central Services has reviewed all
bids submitted and recommends that the lowest responsible bidder, A. F. Bellisario
be awarded a contract for construction in the amount ot $203,000; and
WHEREAS additional costs are estimated to be $99,000; and
WHEREAS the total cost of the above mentioned work is estimated to be $302,000
as detailed in the attached schedule; and
WHEREAS funding for the above mentioned project is available in the 1987
Capital Improvement Program_ - Building Section.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1) The contract proposal of A. F. Bellisario of Keego Harbor, Michigan, in
the amount of $203,000 be accepted and the contract awarded in concurrence
with the Planning and Building Committee recommendations,
2) Funds be provided in the amount of $99,000 to cover the remaininn project
costs,
3) The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners, is hereby authorized and
directed to execute a contract with A. F. Bellisario of Keego Harbor,
Michigan on behalf of the County of Oakland,
4) The County Executive's Department of Central Services, Facilities
Engineering 'Division, shall notify the awardee of this award, in writing
no later than 10 days after adoption of this resolution. The award shall
not be effective until the awardee has been notified.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Finance Committee, I move the adoption of the
foregoing resolution.

Mr. Chairperson, Ladies, and Gentlemen:
The Planning and Building Committee, having reviewed the
above-referenced matter, reports with the recommendation that
a contract be awarded to A. F. Bellisario in the amount of $203,000,
with a total project cost of $302,000.
Mr. Chairperson/ on behalf of the Planning and Building Committee,
I submit the foregoing report.

Project 85-26 March 24, 1987
In accordance with authorization received on August 22, 1985, in the
form of Miscellaneous Resolution 85245, drawings and specifications for
the Mental Retardation Center Remodeling for Community Mental Health were
prepared. The project was advertised and bids were received at 2 p.m. on
Thursday, March 12, 1987. These bids are summarized on the attached Bid
Tabulation Sheet.
The low responsible bidder was A. F. Bellisario of Keego Harbor,
Michigan, with a bid of $203,000.00. This contractor has performed
satisfactorily for us before, most recently on Executive Office Building
Remodeling for EDG.
The project is expected to be completed in duly, 1987, and the total
cost is estimated to be:
1. Construction
2. Maintenance Charges
3. Furniture and Equipment
4. Consultant (Silberg and Associates)
5. Administrative Expense

amount, from the previous year. We are, therefore, recommending that a
contract in the .amount of $203,000,00 be awarded to A. F. Bellisario,
Further, we are' recommending that total 'project funding in the amount of
$302,000.00 be appropriated.
