RE: County Supported Road Improvement Projects
Dear Commissioner McDonald:
Attached are the proposed projects in the first year of the 1987788 Tri Party
Program. Each project has been tentatively approved by each city, village and
township. The maximum 1967 cont=ribution by the County and the Road Commission
is $1,000,000 each.
The amount allocated to each city, village, and township was computed using a .
formula based on: population, county road miles, and accidents. •
The enclosed project listing indicates 58 projects with participation by 40
communities. Twenty two communities elected to carryover all, or part of 'their
1987 allocation to 1988. Thirteen communities will be. advancing 1988 funds to
pay for 1987 construction.
The total 1987 construction amount is estimated at $3,652,359 with the •Tri
Party tunds accounting for $2,885,162. The County is responsible for one
third, or $961,721, ot the Tri Parry amount. In 1988 your share will increase
to $1,038,279 to equAl $2,000,000 for the two years.
We hereby request the Transportation Committee cc . approve this program on
behalf of the County Board so project agreements can be signed and the design
and construction can proceed. Thank you for your continuing interest and
cooperation in solving road safety problems.
Sincerely,
Fred 0. Huughten
ChaiLman of the Board
