Gosling, Chairperson TO: The Oakland County Board of Commissioners IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISIO MINORITY-LOW INCOME Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: The Personnel Committee, having reviewed the above referenced resolution., reports with the recommendation that the resolution be adopted. Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Comildttee, I move the adoption of the foregoing report. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE February 28, 1991 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 91 030 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, DR. G. WILLIAM CADDELL, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL AND HU • N SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISION-1991 MINORITY-LOW INCOME COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTION PLANNING GRANT ACCEPTANCE TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS pursuant to Miscellaneous Resolution #89105 the Oakland County Health Division applied to the Michigan Department of Public Health (MDPH) for $15,000 in grant funds for calendar year 1991 to develop a model culturally sensitive health promotion screening service appropriate for low income minority clients; and WHEREAS the MDPH has awarded the Oakland County Health Division a $15,000 grant for calendar year 1991 to develop the model, the same amount and time frame as the application; and WHEREAS the grant includes funding for one (1) special revenue funded part- time non-eligible Auxiliary Health Worker position in the Health Division which requires the approval of the Personnel Committee; and WHEREAS grant funds will cover 100% of program cost, no additional County resources are required; and WHEREAS the Office of Corporation Counsel has reviewed the grant and approved it as to legal sufficiency; and WHEREAS acceptance of this grant does not obligate the County to any future commitment. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners accepts the 1991 Minority-Low Income Community Health Promotion Planning Grant from the Michigan Department of Public Health in the amount of $15,000 and authorizes the necessary amendments to the 1991 Budget as detailed on Schedule A. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) special revenue funded part-time non-eligible Auxiliary Health Worker position (950 hours) be created in the Health Division-HENS Unit (162-33) to perform grant functions.
