RE: Miscellaneous Resolution #91141, Michigan Department of
Transportation Sound Barrier on I-75 (Royal Oak through Troy)
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The General Government Committee, having reviewed the above
referenced resolution, reports with the recommendation that the
resolution be adopted.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government
Committee, I move the acceptance of the foregoing report.

The Planning and Building Committee reports that this Committee
has no liaison responsibility in this matter.

Miscellaneous Resolution #91141 June 27, 1991

IN RE: SOUND BARRIER ON 1 -75 FROM ROYAL OAK THROUGH TROY
TO: The Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has voted to give monies to the
Michigan State Government, Michigan Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Michigan Department of Transportation is to decide
where and how much of this money is to be spent; and
WHEREAS, the people of Royal Oak, Clawson, Madison heights and
Troy have been exposed for many years to the noise and dust from I 75;
and
WHEREAS, these citizens have been denied the use of their yards and
porches because of the noise and dust
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners supports the motion that the Oakland County Road Commission
contact the Michigan Department of Transportation and ask that some of the
aforementioned money be used to build a sound barrier on I 75 from Royal
Oak through the Troy boundary.
Mr. Chairperson, I move adoption of the foregoing resolution.
