RE: COUNTY MORGUE FACILITIES
BY: WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE - Mr. Levinson
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Hospitals and Pathologists practic-
ing in Oakland County have informed the Board of Auditors and the
County Health Department that thA.7,,, will be unable to perform post
mortems for the County and its Health. Department; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of the Pontiac State Hospital has
offered the use of the morgue facilities of that hospital to the
County at no costs; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the County to employ the
necessary staff to operate the morgue; and
W•REAS, the cost of the physical operation of such morgue
facilities would be approximately the same as currently being paid
individual hospitals and pathologists; and
1 ;IWPF.AS, your Committee recommends that a contract be entered into
between the Pontiac State Hospital and the County of Oakland for the
use of the morgu9 facilities,
NOW THY,. E BE IT 1:SOLVED that the Oakland Count . jrd of
Auditors be and the same is hereby authorized to enter into a contract
with the Pontiac State Hospital for the use of the moron o facilities
located within the Pontiac State Hospital Grounds in the City of Pontiac.
MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Ways and Means Committee, I move
the adoption of the foregoing resolution
