REVISE ELIGIBILITY TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS effective January 1, 1967 the County share of the overall salary of the Circuit Judges of Oakland County dropped to 33-1/3% of their total salary; and WHEREAS Section 2 (r) of the Oakland County Employees Retirement System provides that an employee must be paid 40% or more of all remuneration received by him for personal services rendered by him to all governmental units in order to participate under the County Retirement System; and WHEREAS the practice of joint contribution by other agencies of government to the salaries of certain County positions appears to be growing; and WHEREAS in the judgment of the Oakland County Employees' Retirement Commission a limitation of 30% under Section 2 (r) would effectively and reasonably represent a substantial County employment; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That Section 2 (r) of the Oakland County Employees' Retirement System be and hereby is amended to read as follows: "Employee" means any person, not excluded in Section 16 (b), who is in the employ of the County and who is paid by the County 30 per cent or more of all remuneration received by him for personal services rendered by him to all governmental units. 2. That pursuant to the intent of this revision the Circuit Judges of Oakland County be continued as members of the Oakland County Retirement System from January 1, 1967 MR.
