FOR WATERFORD-OAKS RECREATION AREA

MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, as amended,

space acquisition where such assistance is needed for carrying out a

The land in this description is described as co !encing at the
northwest corner of Section 24, T 3 No R 9 E, Waterford Township, Oak ,
land County, Michigan,
Thence South 89° 55' 12" Fast, a distance of 1260,38 feet
to the point of beginning of this description; thence South 89 °

which lands are to be held and used for permanent open-space lands for
"playgrounds, walking and cycling trails, baseball diamonds, competitive

winter ice skating, to preserve and develop scenic beauty and to
augment present r-creation land contiguous to subject property gl and
WHEREAS, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the regulae
tions of the Department of Housing and Urban Development effectuating
that Title, provide that no person shall be discriminated against
because of race, color or national origin in the use of the land
acquired and/or developed; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the contract for Federal grant will
impose certain obligations and responsibility upon the Applicant and
will require among other thngs:
Assurances that families and individuals displaced as a
result of the openespace land project are offer:di decent,
safe, and sanitary housing,
Compliance with Federal labor standards, and
Compliance with Federal requirements relating to equal
employment opportunity;
and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of acquiring said interests
will be $10,000000
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF OAKLAND:
1, That an application be made to the Departvent of Housing and
Urban Development for a grant in an amount authorized by Title VII
