'iri.9,:einam RESOLUTION 312 April 27, BY: Mr. Semann IN RE: SECOND PROBATE JUDGE TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: At the last meeting of the Board a resolution was adopted authorizing your Legislative Committee to make a study of the existing legislation and propose such additional legislation as may be needed so as to provide necessary machinery to have a Second Probate Judge elected to take office January], 1961. In making the study pursuant to said resolution, your Committee finds that under Chapter 26i'-'; of the Judicature Act the question of a Second Probate Judge may be submitted '0 the electors either by resolution of the Board of Supervisors or petition of the electors. After lhe adoption of such resolution or the filing of a petition, the matter is then presented to the electors at the ",-H:7o<1. ueralelection". If approved, the additional office is filled by appointment of the Governor "until the following November election" when a Jud;:, shah be elected to hold office for the remainder of the unexpired term. Upon completion of its study, your Legislative Committee adopted a resolution recommending to the Board that the question of a Second Probate Judge be submitted to the electors at the November 1960 election in accordance with the existing iaw. If this recommendation is adopted by the Board, your Committee will VrL.t additional resolutions at a fut ure date to implement this recommendation. MR.
