Semcin Misc. 3534 RESOLUTION Mr. Ingraham IN RE: INTER-COUNTY LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM JUNE 2, 1959 TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and GentleY .,:::E.:...4: The Legislative Committee of the Supervisors Inter-County Committee has requested the reaction of this 'Board of Supervisors on proposed Public Defender Bill (House Bill 72) and the tneai Hea lth Bill (House Blil 156 and Senate Bil 1117) now pending before the Michigan State Cloture. These bills have boon reviewed by your Inter-County Committee and your Legislative Committee and the following loint recommendation is made: 1. That this Board go on record as favoring the tabiing of the Public Defender Bill by the State Legislature, at least for the present Session,- so that the County may review further the feasibility of such legislation and the effect which the passage thereof would have on the already tight budget of Oakland County. 2. That this Board go on record as favoring the passage of the proposed Mental Health Bill if such proposed legislation can be amended to make the procedures workable as outlined by Oakland County representatives at a. public hearing on said bill in testimony presented before the House Judiciary Committee on May 6, 1959, NOW THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED.: 1. That the foregoing recommendations be adopted 2. That a. certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Supervisors Inter-County Committee. MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Inter-County and Legislative Committees, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. INTER-COUNTY ..COMMITTEE Moved by Ingraham supported by Hulet the resolution be adopted. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution was adopted.
