RE: PROBATE JUDGE ELECTION

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOART OF SUPERVISORS
R. CH,E.IR,':A,N, LADIES & GL:NTLEa:N:
WEREAS, the Legislature ha3 provided thet in Counties having
100,000 and less than 1,000,000 !tants the inhabitants n- have
an additional probate judge providing the electors of the County vote
favorably on the question at a general election; and
NBEREAS, there is an apparent need for an additional probate
judge as shown by reports of various committees of the Board f Super-
visors, and by reports of the Oakland County Bar Association, and the
volume of work as reflected by the record of the Court; anfil
WHEREA=Ii, it appears to the best interests of the County that
the question be Fmbmitted to the electors,
NOW THERLFC.RL, BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to Michigan Statutes
Annotated 27.3178 (2) the question of having an additional probate judge
be submitted to the electors of the County at the next general election
to be held on the first To, ,° -, after the first Monday of November in
the year 1960.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the question on the ballot shall be
substantially in the following form:
SHALL THERE BE 2 JUDGES OF PROBATE OF OAKLAND COUNTY
INSTEAD OF 1?
