RESOLUTION June 7, 1960 BY: Mr. Heacock IN RE: CONTRACT FOR STORM SEWERS AT SERVICE CENTER TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: Your Buildings and Grounds Committee respectfully reports to the Board that bids for construction of storm sewers at the County Service Center were opened at a joint meeting of the Ways and Means, Buildings and Grounds and Special County Building Committees on May 5, 1960. Plans for the construction of the storm sewers were prepared by the County Engineer and the estimate of cost was $70,000. Bids were received from eight bidders as follows: Name of Bidder Ray L. Oak Park Excavating Company Base Bid $38 , 328. 95 44,363. 00 47,154. 00 42,510.00 46 , 958 . 95 63,261.60 70,436. 00 53,648.15 Alternate Total $16 , 905. 00 $55,233.95 59,063. 00 14,700.00 61,854.00 62,133.00 16,350.00 63,308.95 83 ,811 .60 21,900.00 92,336.00 The joint Committees on May 5, 1960, referred the bids to the County Engineer for tabulation, report and recommendation back to the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the County Board of Auditors. On May 16, 1960, your Committee reviewed the recommendation of the County Engineer that the low bid of Roy L. Welch in the amount of $55,233.95 for construction of the sewer, including the Alternate which consists of 300 lineal feet of 36" storm sewer, 300 lineal feet of 30" storm sewer, 300 lineal feet of 27" storm sewer and 3 standard manholes, be accepted. On May 19, 1960, the joint Committees considered the recommendation of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and authorized the award of the contract to Ray L. Welch Copies to Co. MR. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Buildings and Grounds, Ways and Means and Special County Building Committees, I offer the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED that the action taken by the Buildings and Grounds, Ways and Means and Special County Building Committees on May 19, 1960, in awardi n g the contract for installation of storm sewers at the County Service Center to Ray L. Welch in the total sum of $55,233.95 be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, and that payment therefor be made from funds previously budgeted for this purpose. MR.
