HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1960.06.07 - 19212Misc 3658 RESOLUTION June 7, 1960 BY: Mr. Levinson IN RE: VACATION OF WEST BOULEVARD -- CITY OF PONTIAC TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the Board of Auditors, in cooperation with the Buildings and Grounds Committee, has made application to the City of Pontiac for the vacation and relocation of that portion of West Boulevard lying within the County Service Center, and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Pontiac, by letter dated May 16, 1960, have indicated that they would approve the vacation of the existing West Boulevard from a point approximately 50 feet south of the Grand Trunk Railway providing the County would agree to construct and maintain the portion of its own traffic system and alternate route from that point to U.S. 10 (Telegraph Road) with such point of inter- section with Telegraph Road to be worked out by the County, County Road Commission and State Highway Department, and WHEREAS, the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the Board of Auditors and the Engineering Division of the Board of Auditors deem such proposal to be in the best interests of the County and recommend the concurrence of the County to this end. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Supervisors concur in the above proposal of the City of Pontiac as to the vacation of that portion of West Boulevard from a point approximately 50 feet south of the Grand Trunk Railway and further agree to construct and maintain as a part of its own private traffic system an alternate route from such point to U.S. 10 (Telegraph Road).
