RESOLUTION

IN RE: DETROIT METROPOLITAN AREA REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION
TO INCLUDE WASHTENAW COUNTY
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, Rules of Procedure of the Detroit Metropolitan Area Regional Planning
Commission provide under Article XII that the Commission may change the area of its
jurisdiction by resolutions adopted by the constituent governments involved in the change of
territory reconstituting the area of the Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 3 of Act No. 281, Public Acts of 1945, as amended, commonly
known as the Regional Planning Commission's Act, provides that the boundaries of the area
which are to define the limit of jurisdiction of the Regional Planning Commission shall be
established by the resolution of the participating legislative bodies; and
WHEREAS, the County of Washtenaw has indicated its intention to become a partici-
pating member of the Detroit Metropolitan Area Regional Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Oakland County
(a participating legislative body) that the boundaries of the Detroit Metropolitan Area
Regional Planning Commission's area of jurisdiction shall include all of Macomb, Monroe,
Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties, and that this resolution shall become effective
from and after the date that all of the present members of the Detroit Metropolitan Area
Regional Planning Commission shall have passed similar resolutions extending the jurisdiction
of the Commission to include all of Washtenaw County and appropriate resolution has been
adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Washtenaw County to become a participating member
of the Detroit Metropolitan Area Regional Planning Commission.
