Seligson 2,330 1,701 1,708 1,930 CITY OF OAK PARK MICHIGAN CITY BOARD or CANVASSERS NOVEMBER 6, 1991 The Meeting of the City Board of Canvassers was called to order by Chairman Chadwick at 4:00 P.M. PRESENT: Chairman Chadwick, Members Latimore, Martin, and Acting Member White Due to the emergency absence of Mr. Passerman, Election Commissioner Raymond White was appointed by the City Clerk to fill the vacancy in accordance with Michigan Election Law Section 168.30g. This meeting was called in accordance with the provisions of Public Act 65 of the Second Extra Session of 1963, which provides for a City Board of Canvassers of four members, and pursuant to all requirements of said Act to certify votes cast in the General Election of the City of Oak Park held on November 5, 1991. The purpose of this election was to elect a Mayor for a two-year term and two Council members for four-year terms; and to determine the votes cast at said election on the following proposal: COUNTY BOND PROPOSITION Shall the County of Oakland, Michigan, borrow the sum of money not to exceed Five Hundred Million Dollars ($500,000,000.00) and issue its full faith and credit general obligation bonds therefor, in one or more series (the principal and interest on such bonds to be paid primarily from the revenues to be derived from the operation of the Oakland County Solid Waste Management System), to defray the cost of acquiring, constructing and equipping solid waste processing and disposal facilities to serve the Oakland County Solid Waste Management System, including, without limitation, a household hazardous waste program, one or more recycling facilities, one or more composting facilities, a waste- to-energy incinerator and a sanitary landfill? The members received the sealed envelopes containing the Statement of Votes and copies of the Poll Books designated for the City Board of Canvassers as submitted by the Election Board. Poll Books were inspected and compared with the Statement of Votes and certified as follows: Mayor Two-Year Term (One to be Elected) Gerald E. Naftaly 3,304 City Council Four-Year Term (Two to be Elected) ,ovfA,/ Gloria Chadwick, Chairman CITY BOARD OF CANVASSERS NOVEMBER 6, 1991 PAGE TWO Total ballots cast were 4,403 constituting 23.62% of the registered voters. COUNTY BOND PROPOSITION Yes 2,152 No 1,719 TOTAL VOTES CAST FOR COUNTY BOND PROPOSITION 3,871 Results of the General Election of the City of Oak Park, Michigan, held on November 5, 1991, were certified by the City of Oak Park Board of Canvassers as follows: Gerald E. Naftaly having received a sufficient number of votes is elected Mayor. Raymond M. Abrams having received a sufficient number of votes is elected Council Person. Michael M. Seligson having received a sufficient number of votes is elected Council Person. Motion by: Mr. White Supported by: Mr. Martin To approve the Minutes of the August 7, 1991 meeting of the City.
