RE: MARINE SAFETY. PROGRAM - Mr. Grba

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MR„ CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Supervisors considers
it necessary that a marine safety program be conducted by the Sheriff
of Oakland County, and
WHEREAS Act 303 of the Public Acts of 1967, as amended,
on a reimbursement basis of a sum equal to 2/3 of the County's
estimated authorized expenditures for the calendar year, but not to
exceed 2/3 of the County's authorized expenditures actually incurred
the calendar year,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Oakland
hereby appropriates the sum of $82,997.00 for personnel compensation,
subsistence and marine program equipment costs for the calendar year
1970 and that the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources
Boat and Water Safety Section is hereby requested to authorize
reimbursement to the County of $55,332,00 a sum equal to 2/3 of the
County's estimated authorized expenditures for the ctlendar year
1970 but not to exceed 2/3 of the authorized expenditures actually
incurred for such calendar year. Such reimbursement to be paid to
the County subsequent to the close of the calendar year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Treasurer is
hereby authorized and instructed to establish a restricted marine
safety program account and to deposit therein all sums hereby

appropriated, all of which is to be used solely for payment of
salaries, subsistence and equipment costs of the marine safety
program.
B. CHAIRMAN, on behalf of the Finance Committee, I move
the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
FINANCE COMMITTEE

A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the resolution
was adopted.
