HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1965.04.27 - 19523Miscellaneous ResolutiOh 4443 April 27, 1965 BY: Mr. Levinson IN RE: PILOT PROGRAM - SOCIAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Social Welfare Commission has presented a program for a more positive approach in dealing with the care of indigents, based on rehabilitation of indigent families and elimination of causes for long-term care; and WHEREAS the implementation of this program has been provided for in the Tentative 1966 Budget calling for an additional 21 positions in this Department; and WHEREAS your Committee is of the opinion that in order to test out the feasibility of such a program a pilot program should be initiated immediately with suitable progress reports back to the Committee prior to approval of the Final 1966 Budget; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Social Welfare Commission be authorized to add 10 new positions, at a cost of approximately $37,000, in order to implement the pilot program as soon as possible.
