BY: Mr. Heacock
IN RE: ALLOCATION OF SITE ON SERVICE CENTER FOR OAKLAND COUNTY
EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Employees Credit Union, presently housed in
the West Administrative Wing of the Court House, have, through their Directors,
requested a site on a lease basis for the construction of a credit union facility on the
Service Center; and
WHEREAS, your Buildings and Grounds Committee, in conjunction with the Board
of Auditors and its Engineering Division, is of the opinion that the best location for this
facility would be in the immediate area of the present Crippled Children's site and that
the interests of the County and the Credit Union would be best served by the construction
of such a facility; and
WHEREAS, your Committee deems it only equitable that the Credit Union be
reasonably assured of the availability of a site for construction before incurring the
necessary planning costs, including architectural fees, to obtain final Committee and
Board of Supervisors approval for construction;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, subject to final
approval as to exact size and location of said site, herewith makes available for planning
purposes a site for the construction of a Credit Union building on the Service Center,
subject to review and approval of site and construction plans by the Buildings and Grounds
Committee and this Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this recommended site be adjacent to the Crippled
Children's building.
