IN RE: BONDS FOR COUNTY TREASURER AND DEPUTY COUNTY TREASURER
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Sections 35 and 36 of the Revised Statutes of 1846, Chapter 14, as
amended (M.S.A. 5.681-2) require the County Treasurer to execute and file an official
bond for the faithful performance of his duties in such amount, form and manner as shall
be prescribed by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS Act No. 115 of the Public Acts of 1958 (M.S.A. 5.683) requires each
Deputy County Treasurer or other employee to execute and file an official bond, blanket
or individual bond, for the faithful performance of their duties in such amount, form and
manner as shall be prescribed by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS the Ways and Means Committee recommends that the Bond of the Oakland
County Treasurer be fixed in the amount of $1,000,000.00; and
WHEREAS the County Treasurer has recommended that the Bond of the Chief
Deputy be fixed in the amount of $300,000.00;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Bond of the Oakland County Treasurer
be fixed in the amount of $1,000,000.00 and the Bond of the Chief Deputy Treasurer of
Oakland County be fixed in the amount of $300,000.00, both bonds to run to the Board
of Supervisors and the People of the State of Michigan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the cost of the Bonds be paid from the General Fund
of the County.
