IN RE: MEMORIAL FOR GEORGE H. RICHARDSON
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:-
George H. Richardson, a former member of this Board, passed away on
November 16, 1964, after a long illness at the age of 92.
He was born in Bloomfield Township in a small log cabin in 1872.
Mr. Richardson resided at 2520 Litchfield, Waterford Township, had been a
farmer, and served as Treasurer in 1915 and 1916 and Supervisor of Waterford
Township from 1918 to 1921. Prior to that time he served as highway commissioner for
one term in White Lake Township.
He was a member of the Oakland Avenue United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife Mabel; three daughters, Mrs. Guy Caswell of Pontiac,
Mrs. Lawrence Giddings and Mrs. Gertrude Moore, both of Waterford Township; and
two sons, Carlos and George F, both of Waterford Township.
Also surviving are 27 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs.
Dan Kinney of Pontiac.
George H. Richardson was a dedicated man always interested in and striving to
do the most good for his fellow man and family, and his passing will be mourned by many
who enjoyed his companionship and friendship
MR. CHAIRMAN, I move that the foregoing memorial be spread upon the minutes
of the Board of Supervisors and that the County Clerk be instructed to forward a certified
copy thereof to his surviving wife Mabel.
